There’s a new editor of Newsweek and her name is Marisol Valles Garcia.

The 20-year-old journalism student at Hostos Community College and mother of one was welcomed Thursday by remaining staffers as part of a new program of revenue loss prevention for the magazine where innovative reporting has taken a back seat to fear and cannibalization. The turf war between rival bloggers and media cartels who patrol the night lost in wandering circles and carrying cans of Tecate has taken its toll on this once illustrious publication.

"I accepted because I liked the project and I want to collaborate and make memes with strangers on the Internet," she said during her first news conference.
