Here’s a look around The Pines, the highly anticipated Gowanus restaurant from Aaron Lefkove and Andy Curtin of Littleneck, and chef Angelo Romano, formerly of Roberta’s and dearly departed Williamsburg restaurant Masten Lake. The menu here includes antipasti, a handful of seasonal salads and vegetable dishes, two pastas, and three meaty entrees. The dining room has a worn-in feel, and the space features a huge backyard with a trellis covered in grape vines.
Eater gets a first look of The Pines. In an email to friends, Lefkove adds: “the menu is rather ambitious take on meats, pastas, veggies…..it is very market-driven and constantly changing based on what is available that morning so there is always going to be something new that wasn’t there the last time. Lots of hand-rolled pastas (rolled fresh every day!) and house made tofu….and plenty of MEAT!!!!”
So there you go. It opened this week. Try the meat.
